Where To Bird This Month

Reporting what you see in the field is important not only to RBA members but the entire birding community. If you need assistance reporting your observations, please contact the statistics committee for help. The primary contact is listed on your monthly newsletter.

We use two methods for reporting sightings:
  • post an e-mail message on a listserver
  • send a hard copy by US Mail (If you need a form, please visit our checklist and form page link as listed to the left.)

If you want your sightings included in the newsletter noteworthy records sections, you must submit them directly to the statistics chairman. You may e-mail them to Kevin Griffith.

    Hotlines:
  • Buffalo "Dial A Bird" 716-896-1271
  • Syracuse Birdbox 315-637-0318
E-mail Listservers: These are e-mail lists you subscribe to for free, where you can post your sightings, ask birding related questions or read what others are observing:
  • GeneseeBirds serves the Rochester region (includes but is not limited to Monroe County, Livingston County, Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas)
  • CayugaBirds covers the area around Cayuga County.

There are other lists that can be found on our birding links page.

Please send your observations to GeneseeBirds or to Kevin Griffith at ckgrif@frontiernet.net - Thank you.
